Henry J Gasser Vintage Drag Car Project — Hot Rod Hoarders Ep. 3

Watch awesome Gassers drag racing in this video shared to Old Car Tv ( Author Description – Henry J Kaiser built the “Henry J” from 1951 to 1954 with intentions of an economic car, but the reality is that the light weight cars became perfect candidates for drag cars. Vintage drag cars really speak to me, and it has become clear that my dad and I are hoarders. We’ve gathered up quite a collection of old drag cars and vintage racing parts over the years, and this is the newest addition to our collection. It’s a 1951 Henry J drag car, and it has a lot of ingredients to making an awesome gasser. It has tons of rust issues, but the basic platform looks good and it’s ready for some TLC at Byrd’s Garage. And just to make it known, there is such a thing as too many projects, so this one will be on the back burner for a while. Maybe one day we can make some progress on all of our other vintage drag cars and barn finds.

Anyway, check out this video as I walk around our newest acquisition, which is complete with a straight axle, small block Chevy, T-10 four speed and other gasser equipment. This video is a part of my series called “Hot Rod Hoarders”, where my dad and I discover and rescue hot rods, drag cars, and vintage speed parts.
